65x53 LADY & UNICORN Sense of Hearing Medieval Tapestry Wall Hanging
"Lady & Unicorn Hearing Tapestry Wall Hanging"
The Lady and the Unicorn is a series of six tapestries woven in Flanders of wool and silk and is often considered one of the greatest works of art of the Middle Ages in Europe. Five of the tapestries are interpreted as depicting the five senses: taste, hearing, sight, smell, and touch and a sixth one named desire that is believed to mean representing love or understanding. Each of the six tapestries depicts a noble lady with the unicorn on her left and a lion on her right and some include a monkey in the scene. This high quality tapestry is woven on Jacquard looms. Includes rod pocket and weighted bottom for easy hanging. Cotton blend. Spot clean only. Measures 53" wide x 65" high.
